The MapInfo Professional e-Journal

When you are using advanced Location Intelligence tools such as MapInfo Professional it can sometimes feel like you have forgotten about the some of the functionality of the product than you remember. At other times you can just stumble across some tool or functionality that you thought might be applicable to your project that either decreases the amount of effort to do the work or adds a whole new dimension to your analysis and insight.

To help you get the most out of your investment in MapInfo Professional, the team at PBS have released an e-journal called The MapInfo Professional. The journal contains useful tips, tricks and info for beginner to advanced MI Pro users and the odd competition to round things off.

The latest edition features an in depth review of the use and insight that can be gained from the Spider Graph tool, how to save time and mouse-clicks with the Table List Window and an advanced review of how to create regions from points – Voronoi style. The image below shows a visualisation of assigned post code areas for branch offices using the Spider Graph tool.

Be warned, the journal also includes a “Bad Geography Joke” section…enough said.
