Data - Creating value from customer data
Critchlow is New Zealand’s leading geographic data supplier. We integrate data onto digital maps that can be used at the desktop level or as an enterprise-wide solution. These datasets make information easier to analyse, illustrating patterns, relationships, trends and opportunities in the data that cannot otherwise be seen without viewing it from a geographic perspective. The data we provide includes:

• New Zealand’s road, cycle and walking networks
• NZ addresses
• Business data
• Census data

We supply to local and international clients an integrated geographically based information set, comprising topological, geo-demographical and other data, derived from over 70 sources.  Accuracy, coverage and freshness are core attributes of our data and our team of data consultants and analysts are continuously editing and updating our data products.  This requires the use of several applications, tools and databases, together with extensive processing.

We also clean, de-duplicate and validate our client’s customer and address data, using batch and interactive processes. Increasingly, we are providing web-services that improve data and address quality.  We forecast significant growth in related data as a service, required supporting infrastructure and IT services.

Software
Critchlow act as business partners for global location-based software providers, including Pitney Bowes Software, 1Spatial, Exa-min, ESi, EmerGeo and others. Our consultants work alongside our specialist Client Directors to ensure that any solution we provide is tailored to meet our clients specific business needs. We offer solutions as simple as desktop applications right through to highly complex enterprise-wide systems. Increasingly, these applications are deployed in a hosted or Software as a Service configuration, requiring associated infrastructure and IT support services.

Our software business requires the capability to deploy these applications for testing, training, configuration, support and demonstration purposes.

Professional Services
We have a team of skilled consultants and developers who deliver consulting, analysis, training, development and support services. Our consultants deliver location based business insight that enables our clients to improve their business performance. We deliver projects ranging from sophisticated geographic-based analysis and customised map production through to the design and delivery of bespoke applications.

Our developers support in-house GIS applications as well as develop code for our clients’ applications. These range from simple routines that automate Desktop GIS tasks, through to complex standalone applications built on web-technologies.  The ability to manage virtualised environments to development, test and maintain this portfolio of applications is crucial.
