What's new in NationalMap3?

    Launched in November 2009, NationalMap3 has a new look and feel, provides new functionality, and has an even more comprehensive data set. Changes include:

Layers

Transport network - Incorporates motorways, state highways, major roads, secondary and connector roads as well as local and other minor roads. Find carpark, tunnel, motorway junction locations, railway lines and stations, ferry routes and much more.

Boundaries - Includes territorial authority, regional and suburb boundaries and meshblock and area unit as well as postcode areas.

Points of Interest - Includes recreation features like golf courses, sports fields, parks and rivers; public areas like airports, hospitals and shopping centres, and amenities like hotels, religious facilities and service stations.

Education - Preschools, primary, intermediate and secondary schools and tertiary education facilities.

Places - New Zealand locations including cities, towns and other localities.

Emergency and Health Service - Hospitals, rest homes, and police, fire, ambulance locations

Retail - Shopping area boundaries and named shops within shopping centres.

Licensing

    NationalMap3 is fully scalable and can be licensed to suit your requirements in any of the following formats:
  • A national product (all of NZ)
  • Either the whole North or South Island
  • Any larger district or regional area (possibly a number of adjoining TAs)
  • Any metropolitan city or town area (which may be one or more TAs)
  • The minimum area for supply is a single TA
NationalMap3 is licenced with a range of data sets as part of the standard product. There are also add-on data sets licensed separately.

    Add-on data sets include:
  • Address ranges - Comprehensive address range for all roads within urban areas and find registered RAPID and rural addresses outside these areas.
  • Elevation - Contour data and digital elevation models of New Zealand.
  • RAMM - Understand the location of road assets like bridges, culverts and road signs and analyse traffic volume.
  • Routing - Estimate total journey time, and optimise routes.
  • Cadastre - Comprehensive cadastral property information including property boundaries, easements, addresses, ownership and more.
  • Mortgages - view mortgage details and financial institution information for a property.
